In response to my call for help I received a great topic idea from one of my readers. The topic is exercise induced anxiety and whether or not lightheadedness and dizziness are caused by anxiety while exercising or is there something else going on? If you have spent any time reading this blog or any other online resource about anxiety disorders then you know one of the most common bits of advice given to anxiety sufferers is that they exercise. Sometimes though even something as positive and good for you as exercise can cause problems. So

Everything Isn’t So Bad
Cheer up you because I know you feel like your on the never ending train wreck from hell (anxiety disorder). But alas everything is not as bad as it seems. Now I have anxiety like you do so I would never scam you and say everything is peaches and cream. At the same time however I would seriously advise you to not despair and to stay positive. One of the easiest traps to fall into when you have an anxiety disorder is the self doubt, self pity, long term projected disasters hole. And, to an extent, I understand why this is. I mean after all
How To Defeat Negative Thinking
As we search for the best ways to defeat our anxiety symptoms sometimes we assume that the best solution to our problem just has to be complicated. How else could such a problem be dealt with right? Well I think that this is in fact not true. You've heard all the cliche's before, the shortest distance between two places is a straight line or how about the best solution is usually the most simple one so on and so forth. Although not always true, like if you wanted to build a space shuttle to reach Mars, simple is usually better. After all
Why You Should Not Practice Avoidance
In an effort to sooth their anxiety many anxiety sufferers turn to avoidance as a coping tool. Anxiety sufferers will avoid going to certain places or avoid certain people just to make sure that they won't feel bad. It's almost like we anxiety sufferers would rather hide from the world than deal with the symptoms, thoughts, and feelings that drive us mad. But avoidance is ultimately not the answer to your troubles. When you have an anxiety disorder asking questions and searching for information about anxiety becomes almost a ritual. So
How To Cope With A Panic Attack
Now when you read the title of this post you might have thought "cope with a panic attack? Is that even possible?" It is kinda hard to understand how one could cope or negotiate with such a stressful and seemingly out of control event but it can be done. Let's start by looking at the word cope. To cope means to manage a taxing circumstance. The operative term being manage, not defeat, conquer, vanquish, etc. We have to start out with the understanding that we cope with anxiety and panic we don't and cannot will it away or destroy
Presidential Election Anxiety
With the presidential election looming it seems that the nations anxiety level has risen substantially. There seems to be fear mongering on both sides of the aisle and it's creating a great deal of uncertainty and fear. This blog is non-political so you'll get no promotion or detraction for either candidate here. Moreover I'm not sure that people really want that as they've had it up to here (insert neck) with all the negativity. However I do get the sense that people are afraid. They are afraid of the country changing, they are afraid of
Not Thinking Too Hard Is Good
Thinking is something we all do all the time. There is no way to stop the incessant chatter that is the soundtrack to everything we do. Should I eat this? Or should I eat that? I need to go to the bathroom but I'll wait a few minutes until I go. After that I better check my voice mail and then my email oh and I have to... it never stops. Thinking then is not an issue but thinking too hard is or at least can be an issue. Having anxiety is like thinking in that it is always there in one form or another. Anxiety though has the ability to
