How long must you wait for anxiety and panic to leave you? The truth is that panic and anxiety can be with you for a week, a year, or even the better part of 20 years. This is not meant to scare you but just remind you that you have to be patient. I am sure you’re asking yourself how can I be patient? But let me ask you, how could you not be? You have already dealt with this for some time and are still here. I have had anxiety the better part of 9 years, but during that time I have learned to bring my anxiety under control.
There are some that say you can be cured of anxiety within 24 hours or 90 days, etc. I personally am weary of claims like that, because simply put everyone experiences anxiety in their own way and the time needed for recovery will vary. That’s precisely why I say that it takes patience, but it will also take acceptance, action, and time. You’ll simply have to wait as you recover, you will have to do things to mitigate your anxiety, and you will have to let some time pass before you can be like you used to be. There is no magic bullet.
Some of you are surely sick and tired of all this. That’s exactly why I created this blog. To share with you the things I have learned to help you along your way. Some may end up curing themselves 100%, others (like me) will have to learn to cope with anxiety for longer. But the point is to feel better now and not just sit back and allow anxiety and all of its manifestations to take over your life. You have to be proactive and seek solutions and put them to work for you. Be patient, and with some knowledge and some time you will get better.

I have been anxiety free for almost a year (abrubtly started in August 2012) but i have little ‘waves’ hit me over the last 3-4 days. I get that pit in my stomach and waves of bristling heat over my back and shoulders. I have nothing on my mind, and no worries. Thank you for for the comforting words to be patient. It will get better, for me, it has before.
