I mentioned a few weeks ago that I’ve been working on an ebook and today I just wanted to follow up on my initial introduction.
I’ve been working on what I call a special report for about 3 months now. The special report is a 50 page white paper on how to stop anxious thinking. I’ve been wanting to write and publish this report for some time, but I always put it off because I felt that it takes a lot more effort to write reports than it does to write a blog post. The problem, however, wasn’t the increased effort needed, but the fact that more difficult work comes with a certain level of stress that I didn’t particularly want to mess with. But despite this I moved ahead with it because I felt that it could benefit a lot of people.
I’ve always felt that if you could stop thinking anxiously then many of the problems that you face related to anxiety would not be so hard to bear. For example, imagine having chest pain and not freaking out. What would that mean to you?
That’s why I think addressing the thought process behind anxiety – and not only anxiety symptoms – is so important to the report. Too many anxiety sufferers, if even understandably, treat anxiety symptoms as the holy grail; they think that by understanding the symptoms alone they’ll be imparted with peace of mind. I don’t think it works that way.
I’m excited about the project mainly because I’d like to show everyone that you don’t have to stay anxious for life. That even if anxiety flares up every now and then you can still live the majority of your life in peace. I try to do the same thing on Anxiety Guru but only in bits and pieces. That’s because blog post should really not be 17,000 words long.
In the report I tackle issues like assumptions, core fears, disturbing thoughts, thought modification and so much more. This special report is filled with nothing but useful content. It should be available in about 4 weeks.
