Hi, I’m Paul Dooley. I am a licensed therapist and creator of Anxietyguru.net.
I am also the guy behind the The Anxiety Guru Show. A podcast that provides information and advice about anxiety related problems.
I am also the author of How to Stop Anxious Thinking and The Big Idea. They provide a step-by-step guide on how to understand and manage anxious thoughts and feelings.
Okay, now that we got all that out of the way. I want to share with you why I created this website. In short, I made it for you. Yes, you.
If you’re feeling nervous, worried about your health, living with weird physical symptoms, or dealing with a recent relapse of anxiety, then you’re precisely the person I was thinking of when I launched this site in 2008.
And I did it because I know how you feel. Well, maybe not exactly because everybody has their own unique brand of anxiety, but pretty close. My ability to relate to you comes from my own 10 year struggle with anxiety which began when I was just a teen. I can still remember how confusing and scary those times were for me. But, after years of random research, reassurance seeking and needless doctor visits, I finally got better. And although I no longer have panic attacks, or other anxiety symptoms, I have never forgotten what it was like to live in such fear. Eventually I built up the courage to share my story and all the random things I’ve learned over the years. Now my once small blog has grown into a podcast that today is downloaded by thousands every month.
